God Bless Our Bible Class Teachers

The Central Avenue congregation is richly blessed with Christians willing to share God's Word with our children and adults. We have twenty regularly scheduled Bible classes each week with over twenty teachers and assistants. It is certainly a joy to see the commitment of so many fine teachers dedicated to their work and accomplishing so much in preparing us all for daily living in the world.

Paul tells us that teaching is a gift (Rom 12:6-7) “Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them: … he who teaches, in teaching;…” and that teachers play an important role in the church (1 Cor 12:28-29) “And God has appointed these in the church: first apostles, second prophets, third teachers,…” Paul even tells us the purpose of teachers (Eph 4:11-13) “And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ….” Our teachers are helping to build and reinforce the spiritual foundation of our congregation.

What part can you play? First, join us in class. Second, volunteer to teach or assist. Third, take the time to discuss with your children what they are learning so that they see your interest in their Bible studies. Fourth, encourage those who teach you or your children and pray for them.
