Edification Programs

Bible School Classes

Sunday morning and Wednesday night Bible classes are held for all ages, infants through adults.  All classes are taught by our local membership.

Youth Ministry

We are interested in young people and work with them to develop both their spiritual qualities and their leadership abilities. We hold youth devotional in our homes and our youth participate in both local congregational and area church youth efforts including youth rallies and camp at Fort Hill Christian Youth Camp near Hillsboro, Ohio. Two deacons directly support the youth ministry.

Brother's Keepers

The Brother’s Keeper program has many tasks, but its primary purpose is to encourage our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. This encompasses both edifying faithful Christians and rebuking brethren to turn away from sin.

One of the duties of the program is taking the Lord’s Supper to those brethren who are unable to attend services due to illness, injury, etc. Not only does this allow these Christians to partake of the communion on the first day of every week as commanded by Acts 20:7, but it uplifts them. Please let me know if you’re interested in assisting in this rewarding effort.

Another responsibility is caring for those who are suffering. This is a duty every Christian bears. In James 1:27, visiting the fatherless and the widows in their affliction is defined as “pure religion.” In Matthew 25:35-45, Jesus talks about Christians feeding, clothing, and visiting the least of the brethren. These same Christians were described as inheriting the kingdom. By “bearing one another’s burdens,” (see Galatians chapter 6) we help and encourage our brethren who are in need.

Finally, I want to stress the importance of our attendance. The elders of this congregation, who are responsible for our spiritual well-being, have deemed necessary to hold services twice on Sunday and on Wednesday evening. Neglecting services is not a new problem in the church. We read about Christians who were unfaithful in their attendance in Hebrews 10:25. Only two verses later in Hebrews 10:27, these same Christians were described as, “fearfully looking for [the] judgment and fiery indignation.” When we walk out the church doors, we are constantly bombarded with worldliness and sin. I don’t know about you, but I need the edification and encouragement I receive from my brothers and sisters in Christ every time the church doors are open to resist temptation.

Let us continue to “exhort one another daily, while it is called today” (Hebrews 3:13).

Fellowship

We provide many fellowship opportunities to encourage love of God and others. These include home Bible studies, family outings, and recreational events. Our Christian family here is organized in fellowship groups prepared to meet one another's needs. Each Sunday, one of these groups or the entire congregation shares a meal after morning worship at which we welcome our visitors.
